The four courtyards of the
Hospital Real can be visited at night this Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, from 19.00 to 22.00 hours, within the sixth edition of Alumbra, the light and audiovisual experimentation festival that this year is titled ECOS. The proposal brings together four installations in which the architecture, history and memory of the building dialogue with each other, according to the University of Granada (UGR), which promotes the festival.
The route includes works by Christelle Oyiri, Azael Ferrer and Fran Pérez Rus, along with a sound installation curated by José López-Montes. Those who come to the Hospital Real on those two days will be able to see how light and sound occupy the courtyards of a historic building, in an event designed to be visited at nightfall.
Alumbra is promoted by the Vice-Rectorate for University Extension, Heritage and Institutional Relations, La Madraza Centre of Contemporary Culture and the UGR Heritage Area, the Miga Cultural Association, MEDIANOCHE0 and the audiovisual studio Item Media, with the collaboration of Granada 2031.
The media presentation will be held on Friday, November 6, at 11.30 hours in the Press Room of the Hospital Real. It will feature Margarita Sánchez Romero, Vice-Rector for University Extension, Heritage and Institutional Relations of the UGR; Julia Martínez Escudero, manager of Miga Cultura and director of Alumbra; Ana Frías, director of MEDIANOCHE0, co-organiser and curator of Alumbra 26/31 ECOS; and Alex Flick, founder of the Gathering gallery, with venues in London and Ibiza.
