The takemusu aikido seminar will be held on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 in the martial arts room of the Pabellón Municipal de Deportes de Motril. It is taught by Michael Ormerod, fourth dan Aikikai and a direct student of Lewis Bernaldo de Quirós, seventh dan Aikikai, according to the Ayuntamiento de Motril.

Schedule and levels

On Saturday the sessions will be from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00. On Sunday the seminar will continue from 10:00 to 13:00. The activity is aimed at practitioners of different levels, with the goal of encouraging learning, technical improvement and knowledge of the principles of aikido. The municipal aikido instructor, José Luis Muñoz López, has said that the seminar is designed so that people with different levels of experience can take part. He has also encouraged those who are curious about this discipline to come to the pavilion, since spectators may attend without taking part in the sessions. Muñoz has recalled that Motril has a municipal aikido school within the Área de Deportes, where the discipline can be discovered and even tried.

Registration and price

The price is 40 euros for the full seminar and 20 euros for one day. Registration can be done until the day it begins by email at info@aikidotradicional.eu or by contacting the Área de Deportes at the Pabellón Municipal de Deportes de Motril. The deputy mayor in charge of the Área de Deportes, Daniel Ortega Moreno, has said that the seminar is an opportunity to continue diversifying Motril's sports offering and to bring the public closer to disciplines that contribute to physical development and personal growth.
