The Peligros City Council has closed the vote of the fifteenth edition of its participatory budgets, with 1,715 votes cast. The twelve most voted proposals will become part of the 2027 municipal budget, according to the Council.
What has been voted on
The votes have been distributed between online voting, open for a month, the physical ballot box and the votes held at the Instituto de Educación Secundaria (IES) Clara Campoamor. The count was done this Wednesday in the council chamber of the City Council.
Of the 24 proposals submitted to a vote, coming from the neighbourhood assemblies and filtered by the viability commission, the twelve most voted are binding. The rest are not according to the regulations, although the government team assures that it takes them into account.

Climate change and participation
The councillor for Participation, Nadia María Hidalgo, has pointed out after the count that the most voted proposals are usually related to the effects of climate change. "This year, the most voted proposal is a comprehensive plan for the control of insect and rodent pests, and it must be remembered that in recent years requests such as tree planting, installation of shade awnings, air conditioning have been common," she explained.
Hidalgo has placed the origin of this process in 2012, when the first votes and assemblies were held in the town.
What happens now
The twelve most voted proposals will be incorporated into the 2027 municipal budget. The remaining twelve, which finished between 13th and 24th place, are not binding according to the regulations, although the government team states that it takes them into account.
