Anyone who wants to fill their balcony, facade or business in Baza with lights and decorations has until December 2 to sign up for the VII Christmas Decoration Contest. The rules are already published on the Notice Board of the municipal website (ayuntamientodebaza.es), as reported by the Ayuntamiento de Baza. The contest divides participants into three categories. Category A is for neighbourhoods, residents' associations and outlying districts. Category B is reserved for balconies and facades. Category C is intended for businesses, both retail and wholesale. In all three cases the theme must be Christmas, although the composition and the elements are left to each participant's choice. The entries must be visible from the public road and remain on display from December 3 to January 6. If they include lighting, it must be switched on until 22:00.

How to sign up and what can be won

Registration is done by email to jose.burgos@ayuntamientodebaza.es. The annex accompanying the rules must be filled in and a photo of the entry sent. The deadline ends on December 2. The prizes vary depending on the category. In A there is a first prize of 900 euros, a second of 600, a third of 500 and six fourth prizes of 300 euros each. In B, a first prize of 200 euros and fourteen second prizes of 100 euros. In C, a first prize of 250 euros, a second of 150 and a third of 100. The jury is made up of people specialised in subjects related to this type of decoration. The Concejalía de Comercio launches this seventh edition to promote the festivities and boost commercial activity in the city.
