Children with different abilities and support needs will be able to play on Thursday, November 26 at the Centro de Magisterio La Inmaculada de Granada. There, from 11:00 to 13:00 hours, the Inclusive Play Fair «A mi manera, contigo cada paso cuenta» is held, in which students of the university training of future teachers will put accessible play stations into practice. The event stems from an educational innovation project promoted from that university training and has the collaboration of the Colegio de Educación Especial La Purísima Concepción, which in 2024 received the Premio Princesa de Girona Escuela. The teacher of the center and promoter of the initiative, Isabel A. Gómez Pérez, explains that the goal is for students to apply in practice what they have learned and for the games to allow children with different support needs to participate actively.

Playing to learn to teach

The activity is part of the preparation of those who will be teachers. The accessible stations that will be shown on November 26 have been designed so that play works as a tool for real inclusion, not only as entertainment. In them, future teachers face classroom situations with diverse students and check on the ground what adaptations are needed so that no one is left out. The center hosting the fair is at calle Joaquina Eguaras, 114, in the Cartuja neighborhood, according to the data provided by the organization. Entry to the fair is free and does not require prior registration, and access to the center is through the main door.

An event open to families

The day is designed so that families, teachers and anyone interested in inclusive education can attend. The organization invites people to come during the two hours of activity to see how the stations work and to participate in them. The Colegio de Educación Especial La Purísima Concepción contributes its experience in caring for students with special educational needs, recognized with the Premio Princesa de Girona Escuela 2024, an award that distinguishes schools for their educational improvement projects. Anyone who wants to know more details about the fair can consult the website of the Centro de Magisterio La Inmaculada, at la web del centro.
