More than fifty municipalities in the province, especially the smallest and those with the fewest resources, will have a stable cultural programme thanks to Granada Territorio Lector. The plan, which runs annually, is expected to reach around 12,000 beneficiaries each year, according to the
Diputación de Granada.
The first projects arrive this autumn. On the one hand, the travelling exhibition «Feliz Encuentro», which brings the poetry and illustration of the El Príncipe Preguntón collection to five venues and to schools and secondary schools in 15 municipalities: Benalúa; Iznalloz, together with Dehesas Viejas and Domingo Pérez; the Alpujarra area of Pampaneira, Bubión, Capileira and Pitres; the area of Huétor Santillán, Beas de Granada, Güevéjar and Cogollos de la Vega; and the region of Alhama de Granada, Zafarraya and Ventas de Zafarraya.
On the other, the Circuito Territorio Lector rolls out 17 actions, including workshops, educational shows, dramatised lectures and gatherings, in around 45 municipalities. Within the framework of the exhibition, the workshop «En busca de la poesía que llevamos dentro» is held, led by Huerto Alegre, for Primary and the first years of Secondary; the show «Biblio-Historias», by Manos a la Obra, for Secondary and Adult Education; and talks for an adult audience, especially teachers and librarians, with Juan Mata and Andrea Villarrubia.
The Circuito Territorio Lector includes proposals such as the reading club «Hora de Café con Libros», led by Raquel Hernández; the reading and artistic creation workshop «Exploradores del arte y las letras», by Elena Carcedo; an educational show on the Spanish Golden Age Theatre, by Ildefonso Gutiérrez; and «De mar a mar», by Ramón Maschio together with Carmen Huete, which combines music, poetry and theatre.
The programme is organised into seven lines of work: library services and resources, literary exhibitions, circuits for promoting reading and creation, extension of literary events, awards, and training and equipping of reading spaces. All of this with three axes: media literacy, inclusion and diversity.
The deputy for Culture and Education, Pilar Caracuel, has stated that the plan «is born with the vocation of enduring over time» and seeks to consolidate libraries as spaces for meeting and training. The full programme can be consulted at
the programme's website.
