Hotels in the province of Granada recorded 263,810 travelers and 565,751 overnight stays in September 2026, according to the Hotel Occupancy Survey published by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE). These figures are provisional.
More visitors, but shorter stays
The number of travelers rises compared with the same month of the previous year: in September 2025 there were 260,096, which means 1.4% more. Overnight stays, on the other hand, fall: a year ago 578,370 were counted, about 12,600 more than now. The result is that slightly more people arrive, but each visitor spends fewer nights in the province's hotels.
By origin, 141,240 travelers resided in Spain and 122,570 abroad. The former generated 290,657 overnight stays and the latter, 275,094. The domestic tourist is somewhat more numerous and also the one who accumulates the most nights.
A September below August
The September figure is far from that of August 2026, when the province recorded 267,758 travelers and 606,139 overnight stays, according to the note that the INE released on October 6. The difference is greater in overnight stays than in travelers, in line with the end of the high season.
The INE is the state body that produces official statistics, among them the Hotel Occupancy Survey, which measures each month how many people stay in hotels and how many nights they spend there. Its figures for September 2026 are provisional and may be revised.
