The Salar Town Council has taken part in the VI National Meeting of Pueblos Mágicos de España, which was held from October 23 to 25 in the town of Padrón, in the province of A Coruña. Representing the municipality were the mayor, Armando Moya, and the tourism officer, Eva Pacheco.

More than 350 attendees

According to the Town Council, the event brought together more than 350 attendees, including institutional representatives, companies, experts and territorial agents from all over Spain. The stated aim of the organisers is to turn the potential of the municipalities into real economic, social and tourism development projects. During the sessions, experiences were shared, alliances were created and initiatives related to sustainable tourism, rural revitalisation and collaboration between administrations and companies were promoted, as detailed by the Consistory.

The Pueblos Mágicos network

The Town Council notes that being part of the Pueblos Mágicos de España network is an opportunity for Salar to showcase its heritage, its identity and its resources. The Consistory frames this presence within its work for the future of the municipality. This year's event also had a Granada connection. On October 25, the portal reported that the Castillo de La Calahorra received the Monumento Mágico de España 2026 award at this same meeting in Padrón, a distinction collected by the president of the Diputación de Granada, Francis Rodríguez, accompanied by the second vice-president and deputy for Cultural Heritage Management, María Vera. The provincial institution linked the award to the historical and heritage value of the castle and to its work in recovering and conserving assets for the territory.
