Monday, November 2 is a holiday throughout Andalusia. It is set by Decree 101/2025, published in BOJA number 93 of May 19, 2025: since November 1 falls this year on a Sunday, the All Saints' Day holiday moves to Monday. The long weekend runs from Saturday, October 31 to Monday, November 2.
The San José cemetery, on paseo de la Sabica, next to the Alhambra, is the one that receives the most visits these days in the city. It is managed by Emucesa, the City Council's mixed cemetery company, which as of October 28 had not published this year's special arrangements.
San José Cemetery
As a reference, there is the last arrangement Emucesa has published on its website, from 2024. That year the cemetery went from summer hours, 8.00 to 20.00, to winter hours, 9.00 to 18.30, starting October 27. There was a Mass for the deceased on November 1 at 11.00 in the cemetery's worship space and the concert «Música para el recuerdo» by the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Granada at 12.00, in the patio de San Julio. Emucesa offered free parking in the nearest Alhambra car park, flower stalls in addition to the usual shops, and car access for people with reduced mobility from 9.00 to 11.00.
Last year the City Council reinforced line 13 from October 24 to November 2, with a bus every 8 to 15 minutes on the 1st, and the C35 on the weekends of the holiday, and set up two temporary stops in front of the entrance and a taxi rank at the door. This year the reinforcement began on October 23 and lasts until November 2. Line 13 leaves from the Palacio de Congresos toward the cemetery from 8.00 to 20.30, every 20 minutes almost every day, every 16 minutes on Friday the 30th and every 7 to 15 minutes on Saturday the 31st and Sunday the 1st. The C35 leaves from plaza de Isabel la Católica from 7.00 to 22.00, every half hour and every 15 minutes during peak hours from October 30 to November 2. Emucesa is available 24 hours a day at 958 221 864 and at atencion-clientes@emucesa.es.
Theatrical visit to the cemetery
The City Council's Department of Youth organizes on Thursday, October 29 at 19.00, lasting about two hours, a free nighttime theatrical visit to the San José cemetery for young people aged 18 to 35. It reviews the history of the burial ground and the way other cultures remember their dead, and ends with a tribute to Don Juan Tenorio and doña Inés. The places, which were booked online, were sold out as of October 22.
Jazz Festival
The 46th Granada International Jazz Festival coincides with the long weekend. Its main program, at the Teatro Isabel la Católica, has three concerts on these days, according to the festival's website:
—Friday, October 30: Antonio Faraò.
—Saturday, October 31: Tomoki Sanders.
—Sunday, November 1: Kyle Eastwood.
The festival continues on Friday, November 6 with Dana Masters and closes on Saturday the 7th with Jumaane Smith. Tickets and passes are sold on the official website, jazzengranada.es. This edition is dedicated to peace.

Albolote opens it from 9.00 to 18.00 without interruption during the Month of the Saints and holds a responsory prayer in the cemetery chapel on Monday the 2nd at 11.00. Órgiva offers a free taxi to the cemetery on Friday the 30th, Saturday the 31st and Sunday the 1st, with departures from the door of the Biblioteca at 10.00, 11.00, 12.00 and 16.30, and a Mass in the cemetery on Monday the 2nd at 17.00. In Cúllar Vega there is a concert «Música en el Cementerio» on Sunday the 1st from 12.00 to 13.00. Motril, Armilla, Baza and Loja had not published it as of October 28. In Motril, the usual hours of the municipal cemetery from October to March are 9.00 to 13.00 and 15.00 to 19.00 every day, according to the City Council. In previous years it has extended the hours without closing at midday for All Saints' Day.
What opens and what closes
The 2026 calendar of Sundays and holidays for commercial opening, approved by Order of June 23, 2025 (BOJA number 121, of June 26), includes Monday, November 2 among the 16 days on which shops may open in Andalusia. Sunday the 1st is not on the list. Opening on Monday is an option for each business, not an obligation, and the order allows city councils to request a change of up to two dates. The next authorized opening is Sunday, November 29.
Banks, public offices and registries close on Monday the 2nd, which is a holiday for all purposes. City buses usually run on Sunday and Monday with their holiday schedule, which it is advisable to check on each company's website or app. The pharmacies open each day can be checked on our pharmacy duty page: /farmacias-de-guardia.
Chestnuts and tradition
All Saints' Day in Granada is a time for roasted chestnuts at street stalls and for huesos de santo and buñuelos in pastry shops. In the Alpujarra, a chestnut-growing area, on Saturday the 31st Capileira celebrates its Mauraca (36th edition), Lanjarón its Gran Castañada in plaza de la Constitución and Mecina Bombarón its Fiesta de la Castaña. Pinos Genil celebrates its own on Sunday the 1st.
