Teatro Alhambra closes its October programme with two shows. The first arrives this Wednesday, October 28: «Mahmud y no solo Mahmud», by Puntocero Company, recommended for audiences aged 12 and over. The second will be on Saturday, October 31, at 20:00, with the concert «Cubero bueno, Cubero malo» by Los Hermanos Cubero.
Theatre, circus and live music
«Mahmud y no solo Mahmud» adapts the book «Partir para contar», by Mahmud Traoré and Bruno Le Dantec, which recounts Traoré's journey until his arrival in Spain. The direction is by Zenaida Alcalde, and the text and dramaturgy are by Silvia Albert Sopale together with Alcalde. The play mixes word, acrobatics and live music to tell the story of a young Senegalese man who leaves his hometown in search of work and whose journey is marked by the outbreak of a civil war.
According to the Consejería de Cultura, Patrimonio Histórico y Deporte, the production addresses the consequences of colonialism, labour exploitation and racism, as well as the difficulties in accessing legal and safe mobility routes.
Return to the guitar and mandolin
On Saturday, October 31, at 20:00, Los Hermanos Cubero present «Cubero bueno, Cubero malo». After several albums with collaborations from other musicians, the duo returns to a more essential formation, with guitar and mandolin as the protagonists. On stage, the two musicians play and sing without artifice, giving all the prominence to the voices and the instruments.
